Hello Joe,

Re: Will AMD categorize Spitfire in Athlon category? If that is the case, and the goal for Q2 remains 1.8 (Athlons + Thinderbirds + Spitfires), they are shooting way too low, or this is an example of extreme sandbagging.

There is plenty of room for interpretation variances at this time. I wasn't around Jerry in the past, but from what I've gathered it seems like he used to be somewhat of a "loose cannon on the deck". After stockholder lawsuits he has learned to sandbag lot more and brag a lot less. I think this cautious sandbaging is prudent. As to the Q2 estimates of 1.8 million, it's possible that he's going to sell 1.8 million Athlons and X number of Spitfires and Y number of T-Birds. At this time I don't know. No one else knows except the AMD insiders.

I do know that since I've become a stockholder in the summer of '99 this company has executed very well! So far I've not been disappointed and I don't expect to be disappointed by the Q1 numbers on April 12th. I think the numbers will be good and we'll see that Jerry has done a fine job.

Like you, the suspense of the CC is killing me. I can't wait but for now I must.

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
