The ESF Transparency and Accountability Act (H.R. 1540).

Mr. Christopher Frenz is the staff director
and Mr. James Saxton is the Vice-Chairman
of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC), U.S. Congress.

Mr. Saxton introduced the following bill to Congress
to address issues with the Exchange Stabilization Fund (ESF).

The ESF Transparency and Accountability Act (H.R. 1540).

House Majority Leader Dick Armey is a co-sponsor of that bill.

Press Release: house.gov

This bill would open the ESF to public scrutiny.

The excessive secrecy cloaking ESF finances and operations
is unnecessary and should be ended. The ESF holds the equivalent
of about $40 billion, and taxpayers have a right to know exactly
what the government is doing with that money.

The Exchange Stabilization Fund has gold sitting at the NY Fed
for its account, and Treasury Secretary Summers refuses to answer
questions to Senators about any ESF activity in the gold market.

For those wishing to help GATA in exposing the manipulation of
the gold market I suggest that you contact your representatives
in Congress and identify the Exchange Stabilization Fund thru
the ESF Transparency and Accountability Act (H.R. 1540)
as a point of focus.

Reginald H. Howe of the GoldenSextant has articulated many essays
that the ESF is the likely candidate who may be assisting bullion
dealers in holding down the price of gold. These articles will
serve very well as a means to express your concurring views to
your representatives in the House and Senate through a sending
of his recent article titled "The ESF and Gold: Past as Prologue?"
and might result in more persons co-sponsoring the ESF Transparency
and Accountability Act so that it will obtain the attention needed
to have the desired "GATA" effect.

Telephone contact for Joint Economic Committee U.S. Congress
of Vice Chairman James Saxton or Staff Director Christopher Frenze
is at telephone 202-225-3923.
