2MAR$, The most important thing to me, along the lines of your thoughts, is that there is belief in God. There are many ways that a man can see the beauty and the power of God. I do NOT believe that it is more holy to worship God in a church building. All that building is, is a meeting hall for the members of the true church which is a matter of the heart and soul, not a mere edifice of brick, stone, steel, and mortar. If one looks upon the universe and sees the hand of God, that would constitute belief in my mind. God is everywhere. Where a person chooses to commune with and worship Him is immaterial.
I must also point out that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Regardless of what name some may use for God, this factor is, sometimes, difficult for some to swallow. I am not one to grab a person by the sleeve and try to cajole him into believing in Christ but, felt it important that you understood that I do believe in Him because of what He has done directly for me. The tale is too long to tell here.
I don't know if you are familiar with what Chief JOseph said about churches, or not. After he and the Nez Perce had been captured and prevented from entering Canada as planned, he was asked if he would allow white schools on his reservation. He said no. When asked why he didn't want white schools, he said; "because they will bring churches." Asked why he didn't want churches on the reservation, he replied; "Because they will teach us to argue about God."
