AND SPEAKING OF NUMBER CRUNCHING, UPSIDE AND TORNADOS I don't post here often but I can assure all of you that I am a loyal lurker. Having read FatSam's repost of #378 dated Nov. 14, 1999 I was curious enough to crunch the numbers of at least 4 of the 6 companies in question. If any one of us had been smart enough to invest in any of these at the below levels, I'd LOVE to hear about it. SUNW-In 1986 was $1, still just $5 in 96' and up until 1/99 still under $20. 100 shares at $1.00 ($100 invested) would today have multiplied into 3200 shares and be worth $320,000. 5 splits, all 2for1 and the float is now 1.7 billion shares. INTEL 1973-1986 there were 7 splits but lets assume none of us noticed it until 1987 at $5 and bought 100 for $500. there were 5 more splits rendering you 2400 shares worth $328,200. The float is now 3.1 billion shares. MSFT 1987-present 8 splits. Assuming we bought 100sh at $1 in 87' we'd now be holding 12000 shares worth $1,068,720. The float is now 3.8 billion shares CSCO 1990-present there were 9 splits. Again assuming we bought 100sh at $1. in 90' we'd now be holding 28,800 shares valued at TWO MILLION ONE HUNDRED SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS! The float is now 6.8 billion shares.
With the vision, stature and contacts these guys have, At $65/sh with a float of 22million and no splits yet? Oh yeah I'll take that bet and hold it for a long time. FYI all info was taken from Freerealtime.com charts by clicking on show all data and show all splits. Numbers above do not include any dividends. Best to All, Retta |
