I think it's safe to assume that most shorts get squeezed out when they're down 100% ... when they're down 300% (i.e., you've lost 3x your investment), it's likely the margin man comes calling. I'll bet that 99% of the shorts who followed him had or were forced to cover - which partly explains the exponential price rise.
