Our plants have high-speed Internet links with key customers, as well as, with each other. These secured, encrypted links will be used to transmit large compressed, digital prepress data files. Aluglass has also joined a business-to-business procurement service, free markets B2B e market place, which will enable us to participate in on-line auctions for product and service solicitations.
The company has also been actively exploring e-commerce joint ventures and potential strategic relationships, in order to increase sales, improve customer service, and reduce manufacturing costs.
Advanced technology and e-commerce will play a much larger role in our future.
Our goal is to achieve $100-million in label sales within 3 years. The year 2000 represents a new beginning.
The company is currently in various stages of negotiating supply agreements, with potential annual sales in excess of $25 million. Potential major contracts include Brahma in Brazil, Groupe Modello (Corona) in Mexico, and Star-Kist and others in the U.S. Each has the potential to add approximately 8% - 10% to sales annually, and much more to profits. In baseball terms, each of these contracts would be a grand slam home run, in terms of profits and cash flows. Of course, there are no guarantees that we will get any of them; although discussions are at advanced stages, but we will be satisfied with even one or two. Most of the profits from these transactions will be generated in fiscal 2001 and beyond.
