Electronics sector sidesteps Wall Street's frenzied week

...Because the electronics industry is at the beginning of a growth cycle and generating strong cash flow, it is not overwhelmingly dependent on the equity market for funds, according to analysts. Also, as investors reassess their portfolios in the months ahead, the fundamental strength of the electronics sector will become even more attractive, they said.
"It's a very interesting time for technology companies. My view is that [the stock decline] is a value [correction], not a fundamental readjustment," said Merrill Lynch's Milunovich. "The fundamentals throughout technology are still very bullish. Clearly, investors are being less forgiving, particularly on the Internet sector, and are now looking for profitability."
