The issue is excessive valuation

GST - maybe it's just me - but I can't help but feel that if I was an insider at a public company and I sold a large amount of my company's stock at the first opportunity because I felt the stock was over-valued, well, I feel as though it would be like stealing money from my shareholders.

Wouldn't it have been more prudent for these insiders to have tried to influence investor impressions in an effort to level out the stock price at a rational valuation - and then sold? But of course, prudence is not the defining term of these times - greed, perhaps, is more appropriate. Take the money while you can - throw those ethics out the window. Who would've thought that C. Everett Koop would have stooped so low as to promote and profit from what appears to be an internet ponzi scheme? Captains no longer go down with the ship - these days they're the first to jump on board the lifeboats, while the rest of the passengers panic.
