Well said bp. No, I had not seen the film. And I agree with your conclusion. Who's interests are being served by abrigating these rights? The only thing I can think of is it's fairly well known that Clinton is desperately searching for a legacy to end his Presidency. He could have a made a deal with Castro to normalize relations if the boy is returned quickly. All the talk Janet Reno is spilling regarding caring about the boy is just a bunch of nonsense. The butcher of Wacko (who has yet to come clean regarding her killing spree there) could care less about children. Did she bother to speak with the relatives in Florida before she made her decision? Of course not. She was handed the political party line and told to run with it. And like a true left wing soldier clicked her spike heals and marched to the microphones. This and many other issues highlight why trust is such an important trait to leadership. Through repeated lies, this administration has completely lost my trust. I don't believe one word they say. They lye, even when they have no reason to lye. And I see no reason to believe things have changed. The naiveness of so many Americans to believe the spin machine White House party line is amazing. I'm beginning to understand more and more how fascist governments take root. The lyes and deceptions become so great people sort of say..."nah they can't be that bold". And they start to think with their eyes instead of their mind. With the mainstream press utilizing the skills of Hollywoods best image making marketers, the electorate barely has a chance to think on their own (especially if they receive all of their information from the television). Thank goodness the internet came along when it did. Otherwise, I shutter to think where America would be headed if we received most of our information from that square box, controlled by so few. The election between George W and Al Gore will be a seminal event in American history if you ask me. We are either going to turn away from deception and lyes and move toward honesty in government, or turn from more government control over our lives, to freedom from government. It's time George W started calling Al Gore and most Democrats what they really are. Socialists. Because, when you carefully look at their views, the difference between them and the socialistic countries of Europe is invisible. Michael
