Pravin,

I would consider moving back to Fort Collins in the future, but right now I am considering Austin, TX. Austin is a great town, the weather is good, and all the high tech investment is spurring a strong growth phase in real estate values (but still affordable).

Having lived in both Boulder and Austin, I would have to say that I found the quality of life in Boulder to be much higher. Austin is too hot, and too far from most amenities. We used to spend a lot of time driving to San Antonio, because there wasn't much in the way of family entertainment in Austin (no zoos, museums, professional sports, etc.) Boulder on the other hand, offered a vast array of entertainments and was only 20 minutes from downtown Denver. Of course, Ft. Collins is a little further away, but still not too bad.
