A little Sunday news for Vivendi

Paris, April 8 (Bloomberg) -- Vivendi SA, the world's largest environmental-services company, is seeking to raise at least 4 billion euros ($3.8 billion) in the initial public offering of its Vivendi Environment unit, the Financial Times reported without citing sources. The IPO for the unit, which Vivendi chief executive Jean-Marie Messier said this week would have about 12 billion euros in debt, is tentatively scheduled for June or July. Separately, Messier said that he expects to conclude talks with America Online on restructuring their AOL France Internet venture around the end of the first half of the year, the FT said.
Vivendi has said as much as 40 percent of its environmental
services unit, which includes the world's biggest water company as well as trash hauling, energy and transport businesses, will be sold in a share sale as the company concentrates on media.
