Hello fb,
I appreciate your post ... I know that many of my posts have irritated many people. I apologize to those people, and again will indicate that I am aware that I don't always express my opinions in the best ways. Since leaving Novell I have thought about this, and have been working to learn more about myself, and how to better express my views.
> while mine was not so favorable because I thought you had > converted over to the "enemy" MSFT, or at least I read > many of your posts as being let us say "less objective" > toward BOTH MSFT and NOVL than prior to your leaving > NOVL.
I will also say that I have deserved much of the criticism that I have received ... and I know that I need more work on how to more properly interact at times ... ;-)
> I thought I had his correct e-mail address, but perhaps I > don't, so would you or someone reading this please post > it once again and sorry for the redundancy.
I thought it was eschmidt@novell.com ... but someone else might have a better e-mail. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Eric, and always found him to be responsive to e-mails ... many people have expressed how surprised they were when they received prompt responses from him!
> Also, do you or anyone have any idea what's happened to > Paul Fiondella?? Did he get told to "shut the hell up" > after his "hint" about Drew??
I actually just saw Paul at lunch ... he came out to Utah for Brainshare, and then took a week vacation out here. I know that he is intending to go to the shareholders meeting on Tuesday, here in Utah. I know that he has been away from his computer, and I told him that people were asking about him ... I offered him the use of my computer tomorrow and I believe he is going to be trying to catch up on posts then ...
> Also, can you please enlighten us...IS DREW PART OF THE > POLITICAL PROBLEM??? NOT-WITHSTANDING HIS TERRIFIC > TECHNICAL ENGINEERING MIND AND TALENT??
Not at all! I have tremendous respect for Drew and his talents ... and I know that he has continued to push forward on his vision, and with his products. Drew always seems to be able to avoid the political turmoil that exists in the company, and I will say again that I believe that it is Drew that has the ability to help bring things around and back on track. He sees what he can do, he understands the industry and the evolution that is going on. I believe that he is one person in the company who needs more support in moving Novell into a successful direction ...
I'm really looking forward to seeing how things evolve in the next 30-60 days ... we have the shareholders meeting coming up quickly, followed by the quarter end, and the announcement of numbers (I believe) on the 27th of May. I'm sure that all of this will help to indicate how the future of NOVL looks ...
