I am for simplicity. Maybe you should open the contest late in the quarter and have it open for only short period of time. Or have more than one contest - early and late in the quarter.

Thanks for your input. I saved all the posts with EPS contest suggestions into a file, so we can revisit them after AMD Q1 earnings fiesta.
