Just started doing some research on CIT. Vince Farrell, a guest on CNBC this AM, mentioned that he recently bought this stock for his clients and his own portfolio. Here is what Market guide summarizes about the company:

The CIT Group is a diversified finance organization offering secured commercial and consumer financing primarily in the U.S. to smaller, middle-market and larger businesses and to individuals through a nation-wide distribution network. For the FY ended 12/99, revenues increased 28% to $2.92B. Net income rose 15% to $389.4M. Results reflect higher finance income due to strong portfolio, partially offset by increased interest expenses.

It is of interest that book value is 23.19, but current price is 17.31. Anyone follow this one?
