Hi Jimbo, we've already found a house-should be completed in about 6-8 weeks. Hope to head up as soon as schools out. Been going to Highlands-Cashiers for about 15 years every October for the fall color. Golf digest calls that area "the Carmel of the Carolinas". Our house is being built in Connestee Falls-just outside of Brevard. Just didn't want to go up and down the mountain everyday from Cashiers to do daily activities. I believe that when the baby boomers start to retire in earnest in about 10 years, there will be a land rush in places like that. Most folks from "Cleveland" don't know about Western Carolina yet. They think there's only the midwest-northeast and Florida, and nothing in between. Lets not tell 'em. That's wild that you live in Hunters Creek. I play at Hunter's Creek golf course often. Still wouldn't mind having something down here for 2 to 3 months out of the year. But Carolina winters are relatively mild anyway. Hey I've been to the beach 30 gazillion times-never go anymore. Just a big body of water. Been there done that.
