And another Company Press Release: "Sun Microsystems and eko systems Announce One of the First Broad-Scale Implementations of Jini(TM) Technology in Healthcare"

New Enterprise Class Electronic Medical Record System Leverages Sun
Microsystems Technology to Provide a Robust, Configurable and Scalable
Solution for High Acuity Care

DALLAS, April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW - news) and eko
systems, inc. announced today at the 2000 HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition, a new
solution that leverages Sun's Jini(TM) technology to automate the creation of medical records in
high acuity environments like operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency rooms. The
new system called Frontiers(TM) was designed to enable physicians and nurses to reduce
charting errors, eliminate wasteful and inefficient manual work and ultimately improve patient
care.

The majority of hospitals in the United States today manually create medical records and the
myriad associated forms required to track patient care and generate billings. Charge items or
forms that are lost or incomplete result in reduced accuracy and loss of revenue.

``With the availability of Frontiers and its new electronic medical record system (EMRS), we
are establishing an entirely new paradigm of electronic charting,' said Jim Edmiston, president
and CEO of eko systems. ``The healthcare industry is now turning to information technology,
like ours, to provide competitive advantage by reducing process overhead and increasing
charge capture.'

Using Sun's Jini technology, Frontiers was designed to allow medical devices like heart
monitors to configure themselves onto a clinical network and begin feeding data into an
electronic medical record. Incorporating data entered by the physician through a customized
Java(TM) technology-enabled workstation, a completed medical record is generated providing
billing information for both hospitals and physicians.

``We are pleased to be working with such an innovative solution provider within the healthcare
industry,' said Bruce Elder, industry manager for healthcare at Sun Microsystems. ``Frontiers
demonstrates that the promise of Java and Jini technology-based network services can have a
real impact on the business of health and the lives of patients.'

Meeting the 100% Pure Java(TM) certification standards, Frontiers is based on Jini, Java
Embedded Server(TM), and Enterprise JavaBeans(TM) (EJB) technologies and Sun's
Solaris(TM) 8 Operating Environment. Frontiers represents a sophisticated architecture for
capturing data in the clinical environment. This system is designed to be easy to deploy, easy
for clinicians and administrators to use, requires a minimum of effort to maintain, and can be
remotely supported.
