In addition; Willy needs new implementations of sse to really show its power; so Willy probably won't be much faster than Tbird on release. Thirdly, Ibm, Mo, and AMD have all announced their new high end processors would be multi processors on a chip, e.g. being power4. It seems to me Intel is being like Cray in the eighties and sticking with proven methods (aluminum and single chip); thereby getting passed by new methods (copper and multicores).
