Of course I have opinions about people here. I like what is congenial to me, what suits my tastes. There are people here I would be happy to meet in person (and HAVE met in person and have liked in person- of course I have been very selective- and I have been correct), and there are people here I would not ever wish to meet. I am human- it's a failing, I wish I weren't, I fully admit it- but there it is.

But I am not on SI for PEOPLE. I've got people where I live. Unfortunately most people don't have many ideas. Or they hide them really, really well. And of course people take ideas so PERSONALLY (hence the hostility thing from Neo) that you can't really rip into ideas in 3d. People tend to cry and whine or yell and scream. Whichever it is- it's boring. SO I come to SI for ideas. The fact that I've met a few wonderful people is beside the point- they were an unexpected dividend.

Now I generally dislike or like people based on their opinions. Absolutely. People who hold what seem to be ludicrous sets of opinions, or who post or act in ways I find repulsive- I'm not going to like. There it is. But I'm not going to follow them around, or make a crusade, or enlist people to "fight the good fight". I stay where I am- I don't move around much, and that is absolutely evident by my behavior over the years. And I am sure my way of thinking and acting is repulsive to some people. But that doesn't bother me. And I don't believed I've ever whined about it.

Perhaps you could be more specific about my "inconsistencies"? And I don't see why this is personal. I posted some rational reasonable posts and got slammed with an ad hominem argument by Neocon which I actually took the time to answer- not that it had ANYTHING to do with the argument. Then I got an ad hominem argument from JLA (no surprise there) and now one from you. I am perfectly prepared to debate the merits of my personality and intelligence- but that is ALL we are doing. It really doesn't have much to do with anything else and I wonder why you wish to spend time doing it. Am I that fascinating? Would you like to preen me? It's all so very flattering.
