Hi Kemble! I am responding to all of your Dell responses, before I run Daniel to McDonald's! I can't wait! Have a great Monday! :)Leigh

RE: "Hi!! RE: COMPUSA CUTS....
I recall the CNN Fortune Newstand show in June of 98 where our DELL be Que was featured along with the meteoric rise of DELL...During this clip a representative of Comp USA made the arrogant statement that: "I'm not afraid of Michael Dell...Folks want to touch these computers before spending their hard earned dollars"..
I wonder if COMPU USA just cut this guy?"

My response: There is nobody home at CompUSA, but they left the lights on.

Re: "Hi!!
RE: Dell said his company has two key advantages. First, lower-cost servers now have the functionality to compete against higher-end products. Second, Dell doesn't think Sun will fully support Linux, the open source software system. "My belief is that Sun will not embrace Linux, and this is a huge opportunity for us to move right into their space," Dell said.
In an interview on Bloomberg yesterday, Kevin Rollins, Dell's vice chairman, said the market for Internet infrastructure spending will rise from $124 billion today to $370 billion by 2003. Dell wants $25 billion to $30 billion of that market, Rollins said, and 40% to 50% of those revenues will come from servers and storage equipment
BUY DELL folks...BUY DELL...
Best, Kemble"

My response: Michael said, "My belief is that Sun will not embrace Linux, and this is a huge opportunity for us to move right into their space," Dell said.

Isn't his agenda clear?

RE: "RE: "They got the lead by buying Digital [Equipment Co.],' he said.
Been a long time coming and a day I'm sure all DELL employees have been long awaited...
Best, Kemble"
"But we took 10 points of market share last year, and when we're the leaders we're going to shout it from the mountaintops."

My response: I will listen for that shout!

"RE: The first computer came down the ramp in two months -- amazing even by Dell standards. At the six-month mark, Nashville workers had built 1 million computers, a record for the company. "The productivity achieved here has been phenomenal," said Roy Perry, a Dell vice president in charge of Tennessee operations. "It was the most productive facility last quarter in Dell operations." Baxter estimated that Dell will hire 3,000 within its first 18 months in Tennessee. "We were thinking maybe 3,000 jobs over five years," Baxter said. Sounds like things are better than expected Leigh...
Best, Kemble .
Dell's efficiency is "phenomenal" to quote the VP over Tenn operations.

My response: 1 million Computers after six months? Those workers need to be trained for the North Pole!

"People PC commercials are going fast....Great commercial...But, they still buy from the middle man...
:o)
Best, Kemble"

My response: The added-credibility can't hurt. It is probably more of a perception deal with American.
