Regarding partnering versus buying in the ERP space, I believe JDEC has an enlightened view...that no ERP vendor has a prayer of creating the total solution. JDEC's One World solution is an app developed in recognition of that...incorporating best of breed applications that are easily stiched together now that API and middleware technology has advanced so far. That JDEC is now being castigated for not buying CRM or any other software solution misses the point. The point is that once a company buys a software developer, that developer is no longer able to produce the best of breed software it did as an ambitious rebellious start up. To follow the examples of PSFT and SAP would be foolhardy...just ask their customers how well those companies are doing in delivering on their promises.
