I always thought that there was a 1/2 second delay for voice communications over satellite. I can't argue with your math, except that the delay will be slightly longer because we (unfortunately) are not at the equator. Still, that's a half-second delay that you wouldn't have otherwise. There will be some buffering of data at the Gilat satellite downlink/uplink station. We'll have to wait for the user reports.

Setting up the dish has to be easier than waiting for DSL! Oops, sore subject... ;-)
