Hard to believe, but I'm still waiting. Should be soon, or so I'm told.

But as far as the delay goes, adding a few thousand miles to account for distance from the equator won't add more than a few hundredths of a second. But a half second delay is nothing for web surfers who usually use a 56K modem. Or even acounting for normal web traffic. I think most of the surfing time is not spent waiting for a response, but rather the downloading of the site itself, which should hopefully be very quick with the satellite transmission. They already have one-way satellite service, but it's expensive and your uploads go through a regular modem, so it's hardly worhtwhile.
