NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--An offering of 43 million common shares of Global Crossing Ltd. (GBLX) was priced at $33 each through underwriters led by Salomon Smith Barney.

About 21.5 million of the shares were sold by the company, with the remainder coming from existing shareholders.

The size of the offering was decreased from the originally planned 59 million shares.

Gross spread is 99 cents, selling concession is 59 cents and reallowance is 10 cents. Delivery is scheduled for April 14.

Global Crossing develops broadband and fiber-optic networks for Internet and long distance telecommunications
