Pareto,
>On one computer I get the icons of home, stocktalk, >inbox and so on, on the other I only get text links.
>On the computer where I get still the icons, the icons >appear squeezed, so I assume the page was programmed >for text links only.
The customizations you define are only loaded when you a) login b) save customizations
So, if you have a browser at work where you say, 'show icons all the time,' then you go home to a browser(where you were already logged in) you will still see the text links. The browser at home won't refresh without either logging in again or visiting the customize page and saving those changes.
Doing things this way saves a lot of database lookups and other server work and improves the efficiency of the site.
As for the squished icons, you stole my first guess - the cache. Remember that most browsers have a memory and a disk cache, you would probably need to to clear both.
If you are using Netscape or IE on windows, you can reload the page by pushing the shift key while clicking on reload(refresh). This tells the browser to 'really' load everything on the page. If this doesn't work for you, please PM me and I'll see if I can come up with something else.
