Re: Intel's real problem is that they have become too large and too political. They have made several very dumb mistakes in the last 5 years:

1. Ignoring IA-32 development in favor of IA-64.

2. Tying their product line to an unknown DRAM type (Rambus), and being unable to extract themselves from the mire once they sank into it.

3. Assuming that AMD was incompetent, despite the fact that AMD has been just out of striking distance for several years now.

I agree with you 100% on your points, but you missed my point. Janet Reno and the justice department have to influence INTC's decisions when it comes to AMD these days. They at least have to think twice now.
