Further I believe AMD's success this past year is as much about Intel's screwups as it is about Sander's prowess.

As a long time veteran of this industry, I can honestly say that I have never seen any company execute as well as AMD has for the past 2 years. Their engineering has been scoring a perfect 10 for some time now.

K6 was crippled by a very short pipeline. This was Nexgen's fault, and it was quite remarkable that AMD was able to keep it as close to PII performance as they did. PII should have been running 200-300 MHz faster than K6.
