If you think that shafting handset manufacturers is a good move for any digital standard - have another thinking session. It's the fat margins that drive R&D effort. European and Asian high-end sales boom is driving Nokia's development of models like 8210 and 8850; success breeds success. And low-end market breeds more low-end products. Is the "CDMA pressure building" now that the whole world sees how the CDMA focus has ravaged Motorola's handset operations?
