Yes, I like to buy them slightly OTM and at least 18 months out. I learned that strategy from UF. However, I must say that with the recent market volatility, I have gone to shorter term options and common. I plan to go back to leaps when (if) this volatility settles down. This was probably a wrong move on my part, I bet UF is sitting back with his leaps and smiling while we go nuts, but hey, more power to him. Besides, it's hard for him to handle all this excitement at his age (just kidding UF) :-)
