Steve - This is totally different than NTAP technology. This applies to transfering data across the network. Interesting technology but NTAP Technology is a storage device It is nothing more than a Large Hard Drive on the network. However the wonderful thing about the NTAP technology is it's ability to recover lost data. We tested the NTAP by loading a oracle DB on it then corrupting the DB and restoring the entire DB in a couple minutes. It would have taken most of the day to recover the same database on our existing system.
