Scumbria,

OT

If you believe that we taxed ourselves to prosperity, and the danger to prosperity is a tax cut, you are seriously wrong.

RE: There is a danger that the same lack of discipline on part of the Congress is coming back.

That is exactly what concerns me about George Jr. and his big tax cuts.

You must not be paying attention to what's going on in Washington. There is so much money around that Congress has been inventing loopholes to get around budget caps.

You don't seem to even know about the existence and significance of these budget caps. Ideally, we should do nothing, that is not increase spending and not cut taxes, and wait until the debt is repaid. But the budget caps are being blown away as we speak by the Congress.

So you have a question: Given the fact that Congress is no longer wiling to live within the constraints, which way would you prefer prefer them to go? Spend the surplus, or give it back to the taxpayers?

Facing only 2 choices: spending the surplus or giving it back to taxpayers, I prefer the latter. Which one do you prefer?

Joe
