Way off topic!!! re: <I especially like the bayonet lug ban. When was the last time you heard about someone getting bayoneted in the USA?>

I'm a martial arts enthusiast, so I'm wondering why this country allows for carrying of firearms in public (with a system of permits that I don't know anything about) while prohibiting martial arts weapons like nunchuks and throwing stars. If we had an NNA (National Nunchaku Association) instead of an NRA, guns would be outlawed while people would be arguing for their God-given right to carry nunchuks for personal defense. And in my humble opinion, the national murder rate would indeed go down. (But at the same time, the rate of broken bones and bruises would skyrocket. Oh well.)

Let's face it. There is a powerful subculture in America revolving around guns. This has very little to do with "personal defense" or "public safety" and much more to do with defending a "way of life" that has been ingrained into the hearts and minds of many Americans.

There, that's my two cents.
