Eric,

There are always exceptions. When I lived in Korea, there was a curfew at midnight, monthly air raid drills, and all able men spent two years in military training after high school. I fought many Koreans while getting my black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Many start at a very young age. I guess the point I was trying to make is that it is an over generalization to think that all orientals have been exposed to the martial arts (a common Western misconception). When I lived in Japan, the difference was very obvious. Very few Japanese are involved in martial arts (especially as compared to Koreans). I should also mention that a Korean friend is just about as good of a friend that you can have.

Pravin.
