You forgot to mention that Rambus is likely to provide better signal integrity than DDR. Also, it will be much harder to obtain CE approval for DDR designs because of radio frequency emissions.

This is because the electrical stubs leading from the bus to the components on each DDR memory module cannot be perfectly matched, even if termination resistors are used. This will result in ringing, which causes radio emissions to be concentrated at the ringing frequency. These higher level emissions are then harder to deal with. Also, the larger number of active data and clock traces will increase rf emissions compared with RAMBUS.
