re: ... how much a competitive threat to ORCL, IBMs relaunch/overhaul of their database is. Software is one of the smallest segments at IBM. It's a little bit too late for IBM trying to enter "exchange world" or "mid-range database marketplace" now. IBM has been making too many concept prs lately. So it's another noise from IBM, imho. They should focus on what they can do best - database management software for mainframes, or larger computer systems even though high end market is going through tough time now.
