From dataweenie on RB. Very cool! NAB2000 Floor Report Huge show, feet sore, too many meetings. Just got a chance to check the board and found that, to my surprise, E-Digital is being shown at the IBM booth - I will get to see it tomorrow. Been hanging around some other private demos and seeing some targeted exhibitors and did not have enough time to browse. Spent some time with some Lucent partners and discovered that they ALL knew about E-Digital. I also found out how loyal they were to the Lucent investor program and got the "feeling" that they were "encouraged" to use the resources of the other partners. Some VERY VERY probable DOTS were mentioned - especially in the video realm - in ways not even hinted about on this board. One Lucent partner demo indicates that bandwidth will no longer be a problem. I mean really no problem. My company might decide to distribute some of our products in ways that could change business models. Imagine going to a kiosk or store, and getting ANY CD on the web, securely ported to your flash device in a few seconds. The time anticipated to download a full length HD movie at the same kiosk will blow you away. Well, it blew me away and I'm a hard sell. What partner, how fast, time to market - don't even bother to ask me - I've said enough. Lucent Digital Radio?????? Plenty of bandwidth to send an ancillary data stream along with the main audio. When the topics of what data could be transported, when the demo radios would be voice enabled and the "by the way have they ever heard of a small San Diego company" question was asked - smiles and nods and long periods of silence were encountered. I also stopped by the Liquid Audio booth at the Sand, and asked if anyone was asking about specifically about our company. YES. I was told that MANY people have approached and directly inquired about the relationship. This is in addition to triple digit phone calls received in the past few weeks. Nothing but NICE things to say about EDIG. I again asked some pointed questions and all I will say is that I was VERY happy with the answers. IBM tomorrow - in the mean time another meeting to attend - hmmmmmm this one could also have a dot or two come to think of it. The theme of this year's NAB is CONVERGENCE - a blending of broadcast and internet. The number of web based content generators and transporters is staggering. They all MUST protect their content.
