I work in the insurance industry and we have a claim involving a large quantity of CDMA phones. We are salvaging the units and our buyer wants to take these Nokia 5100's and Hyundai HGC-110's to another country. He's been told that you can't take the phones to another country because they were "chipped" specifically for the original country's carrier. I've never heard of such a thing. Can't a CDMA phone as above be used pretty much anywhere where there is CDMA technology being used by other countries? Thanks for any information. I am not technically informed so I could use good general information.

These mobile phones should be service provider locked. NAM programming to other operators is impossible then.
