Computer Shopper magazine.....Just received May copy of the magazine in the mail. Has to be considered very bullish for the retail sector. Tons of 1GHz AMD machines advertised. I could not find a single ad for a 1Ghz machine for Intel. Also, the magazine did a spread on 800MHz systems. Three with Athlons and three with copperminuses. The results: Athlon Systems Systemax Excite PJM-800A---$2549.00 five stars ABS Multimedia System 1----$3457.00 four stars Compaq Presario 5900Z-800--$3379.00 three stars Intel Systems Micron Millenia Max 800----$2999.00 four stars Gateway Performance 800----$3790.00 three stars Dell Dimension XPS B800r---$3414.00 two stars Pretty much performance and price winners were the Athlon machines. A very good showing for AMD and Athlon machines. Regards Ed P.
