We have smaller and smaller number of wealthy individuals paying the entire cost of the government. I don't think this experiment has been tried anywhere outside of third world countries. I think it is a dangerous course for a democratic country.

That smaller number of wealthy individuals are doing okay. For the past 20-30 years, a greater proportion of this country's wealth has become concentrated within a smaller
group of people. In other words the rich are getting richer.

The only reason the middle class does not complain is because the quality of their lives has improved during that time span. If that were not the case, however, all hell would break lose.
