Cirruslvr, KX133, Spitfire, K62+. ....
Thanks for posting the CNET article about HP's planned announcement for Monday.
I received info form a reliable source that AMD will announce Spitfire during the CC (shipments to OEMS by the end of April). Please take it with a big grain of salt. Please don't flame me if it doesn't happen - it was my first time attempting to get info from sources connected to AMD ;^)
Regarding the Athlon motherboard ramp -
I stopped posting my data about 6 or 7 weeks ago. At that time, there were 182 mobo listings from 10 different manufacturers (one was KX133 based). This remained almost the same (with slight growth) up until the beginning of this month.
Last two weeks, there has been a decent increase in the number of Athlon Mobo listings at Pricewatch. I have still been collecting the data, and here is the summary for this week -
# of Athlon mobo listings : 253 (up from 190 two weeks ago)
# of mobo manufactrurers: 18 (up from 12 two weeks ago)
# of KX133 mobo manufacturers: 12 (up from 4 two weeks ago)
- Abit, Acer, Asus, Biostar, ECS, Elemental, Epox, Generic, Gigabyte, Soltek, Tyan, and Lucky Star
# of KX133 mobo listings: ~74 (up from ~15 two weeks ago)
It seems, Athlon mobo manufacturers are getting ready for high volume of Athlons this Quarter.
