I2: I don't know if SFE's decision to walk away from the BTB was the proximate cause for the sector correction. I would be seriously reconsidering any BTB stock that has fallen below its April 4th low. One cannot realistically value these companies going forward so valuations are based on market sentiment IMO. That article is encouraging as it suggests sentiment has turned in the sector to a certain degree anyway. Therefore, the time to venture into this area is when sentiment is at its worst in the market and/or in the sector, preferably both.

If you purchased Firstahnd or any BTB fund last fall, you have had a wild round trip. If you purchased Firsthand or any BTB fund in the late fall or winter, you are under water.

I do like the mutual fund approach at this point because one must buy a basket of them all because of the dynamics of the sector. I am going to get a prospectus on the Amerindo BTB Fund scheduled to open the next month and compare it to Firsthand.
