IONA Technologies Announces Record First Quarter Revenues
DUBLIN, Ireland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 2000--IONA Technologies, the Enterprise Portal Company(TM) (NASDAQ:IONA - news), today announced record first quarter revenues of $30.7 million. The company reported net income of $3.2 million, or $0.14 per share in the first quarter of 2000, excluding amortization of purchased intangible assets and acquisition-related costs.

Highlights for IONA's first quarter 2000 included:

Product revenue growth of 59 percent.
The general availability of Orbix 2000(TM), the iPortal Application Server(TM), the iPortal Integration Server(TM) and the iPortal OS/390 Server(TM), comprising four of the five offerings in the IONA iPortal Suite.(TM)
The acquisition of Watershed Technologies to enhance the functionality of the iPortal Server,(TM) which is the final offering in the iPortal Suite.
The launch of the iPortal Framework,(TM) which is IONA's professional services offering to support iPortal Suite customers.
Enterprise deals with Winterthur, Nortel, Lehman Brothers, Lucent, Capital One and Telstra.
New Systems Integrator alliances with CSC Consulting, Origin and SAIC.
IONA's inclusion in Time Magazine's prestigious top-ten listing for the fastest growing companies in Europe.
