IONA and KnowledgeTrack Announce Licensing and Development Agreement
WALTHAM, Mass. and PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 2000--

Components of KnowledgeTrack's Portal Solution to Be Integrated with
IONA's iPortal Server(TM); KnowledgeTrack to License IONA's iPortal

Application Server(TM) Technology

IONA Technologies(TM) (NASDAQ: IONA - news) and KnowledgeTrack(TM) Corporation today announced a multi-million dollar licensing and development arrangement involving IONA's iPortal Suite(TM) and KnowledgeTrack's Knowledge Center that will allow the companies to exchange best of breed portal and application server technologies.

Under the licensing agreements, IONA will incorporate portal and community engine technology from KnowledgeTrack's portal platform solution into the IONA iPortal Server, providing organizations with publishing, document management, calendar, discussion and meeting planning capabilities. Additionally, KnowledgeTrack will license IONA's iPortal Application Server, and will make it available to its customers who purchase the Knowledge Center portal platform.

As part of the agreement, IONA has also licensed KnowledgeTrack's Java-enabled presentation technology and components that enable third-party integration for distributed security management and for content classification. These components will be available as plug-ins to the IONA iPortal Server.
