outlook trimmed

NEW YORK, April 12 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs analyst
Rick Sherlund cut his fiscal third-quarter revenue outlook
for software maker Microsoft Corp. (NasdaqNM:MSFT -
news) on Wednesday.

-- in report, cut outlook for March quarter to $5.75 billion from $5.95 billion.

-- cited "sluggish" demand for personal computers for the
reduction.
-- reduction represents 2 cents in earnings per share.
-- shortfall may likely be offset by gains in investment
portfolio.
-- no change in outlook for earnings per share.
-- shares remain on recommended list.
