Industry Leader Avid Will Support and Bundle the Osprey Video Card
With Its Newest Software Package
ViewCast.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:VCST), a leading provider of Internet
and networked video solutions, announced today that Avid Technology,
Inc. (Nasdaq:AVID), the leading provider of computer-based video, film
and audio solutions for entertainment and information applications,
has selected ViewCast.com's Osprey(R) video capture cards for its new
Avid(R) ePublisher application, the industry's first complete
streaming media publishing tool for Web-enabled video production.
The Osprey video cards will be supported by and bundled with Avid
ePublisher video software as a complete video capture, editing and
publishing solution.
Available in the second quarter for under $600 MSSP, Avid
ePublisher enables content creators to capture, edit or re-purpose
video content and combine it with information and graphical elements
to create HTML-based interactive multimedia content that can be
published to the Web, CD, DVD for easy distribution.
Osprey drivers are integrated with the Avid ePublisher software to
ensure the highest level of compatibility and quality for the users.
For new systems requiring analog video capture support Avid and
ViewCast.com plan to create a bundled version that will include the
Osprey-100 capture card and the Avid ePublisher software. The bundled
software and Osprey cards will be sold through Avid and through
ViewCast.com's reseller channels. A final price will be announced at
release.
