Hi Rod & Alo: Since Linux is "free," the only factor to consider is the value a company can "add" to it. Corel is adding by far more value than either RHAT or CALD.

1. Isn't WP Office 2000, the only enterprise class office suite for Linux adding value?

2. Isn't producing the only world class graphics software for Linux adding value?

3. Isn't producing a user friendly windows-like GUI adding value?

Further, so far Corel has booked about $5.5 Million in Linux revenues in the past two quarters, just for the GUI. Annualize that number and you get $11 M. Compare Corel's "pure" linux revenue to CALD, even RHAT, as most of RHAT's latest 12 Mo. revenue includes the Cygnus acquisition.

Consider the remainder of Corel's fiscal year, the shipment of the suite for linux and Draw 9 for linux. Corel will significantly surpass CALD and RHAt on "pure" linux revenue.

If MSFT threw their hat into the linux ring, would anyone be comparing cheeseburgers to cd's?
