I suppose your reference to Gore implies a belief that I approve of his ethics. As a matter of fact (this news may ring a bell), I think the man hasn't a principled bone in his body. And he seems to be a pathological liar, and a fabulator on a positively Reaganesque scale! He also seems to have the weirdest, most embarrassing, public style of any candidate in history.

And anything anyone says that is critical of Gore will not be received by me with an assertion that Bush is even worse, because, unlike many on this thread, I am not invested in defending the indefensible!

No, e-Bill, I wasn't being "cute"!-- It is Bush himself who described Olasky as his "ethics advisor"! I see you find that incredible. I find it only bizarre.

So little obsession do I have with Olasky that what I know about him is restricted to the fact that he is a biblical inerrantist, has said that Christian reporters should give equal space to a variety of perspectives only when the Bible is unclear, and that Bush has described him has his "ethics advisor." And of course this quote from The Journal for Biblical Mannhood and Womanhood:

"God does not forbid women to be leaders in society, but when that occurs it's usually because of the abdication of men. As in the situation of Deborah and Barak, there's a certain shame attached to it. I would vote for a woman for the presidency in some situations, but again, there's a certain shame attached. Why don't you have a man who's able to step forward? God's Word says very plainly that an elder is to be a man; he is to be the husband of one wife. It's harder when there are women who are CEOs of companies and so forth. Still, it comes down to the question of 'Do we trust God and do we believe that He has wisdom that we don't have.'"

hee hee, Bush's "ethics advisor." hee hee
