Corner Bay receives Alamo Dorado drill results Corner Bay Minerals Inc BAY Shares issued 11,541,109 Apr 11 close $2.40 Wed 12 Apr 2000 News Release Mr. Peter Mordaunt reports The continuing drilling at the company's Alamo Dorado silver/gold property in Sonora, Mexico, has presented very interesting results early in the campaign. A recently drilled hole outside of the known resource/reserve model has returned the highest silver grade drill intercept on the property to date. On line 3+50 South, drill hole AD-49 has returned 52.5 metres grading 697 grams silver and 0.41 grams of gold per tonne or a silver equivalent grade of 719 grams per tonne (based on $5.50 (U.S.) per ounce Ag and $300 per ounce Au). This mineralization displays good continuity with the southern extension of the starter pit area, occurring slightly deeper. The intercept was cut from 220.5 metres to 273 metres down the hole, which was drilled due east at minus 45 degrees (vertically -- 155 metres). Individual assay values of high-grade gold and silver are disseminated throughout the intercept. Moreover, no significant sulphide mineralization was identified and the host rocks appear oxidized as are all other drill intercepts in the reserve/resource model. Hole AD-48 drilled on the same section (3+50 South) is thought to have been drilled on the opposite side (south) of a cross-cutting fault where no significant silver or gold extends directly. The company appreciates the need for more drilling in this area. Current plans are to systematically drill to the south of hole AD-49. Other holes drilled to the south in past programs include AD-12, AD-11, AD-19 and AD-36 and may not have been drilled far enough. All of these holes will be extended as part of the continuing program. Assaying from the drill program is carried out by Bondar Clegg Intertek Testing Services. Other new drill holes drilled thus far in this 10,000-metre campaign are included in the table of intercepts below:

*(1) Holes presented shallowest to deepest intercept on section. *(2) Equivalents based on $5.50 (U.S.) per ounce Ag and $300 per ounce Au. *(3) Newly released drill holes. Metallurgical work related to column leach test work is continuing. There are now seven columns under leach that are investigating optimum size for leaching, solution flow rates and the starter pit area. In addition, two other columns will be loaded this week to investigate the difference in metal extraction for low- and high-grade materials as they are represented in the reserve/resource report completed by MINTEC Inc. last fall. The metallurgical work will be continuing for some time to come and results are expected on the initial work before summer. (c) Copyright 2000 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com |
