Having myself served two terms in a state legislature, it's my opinion George W. Bush, Jr. would be a fine Republican nominee for state representative.

I never saw him as a viable governor and I certainly don't see him as a viable president. His electoral base during his last election as governor of Texas came from a very small percentage of people voting.

And we all know--if you don't, you should know!--that it's easy to manipulate a low voting base: Visit and get out the vote of the elderly, be tough on crime/drugs, be on the right side of gun control issues and have your abortion position lined up with whose gonna vote. This works nearly every time before a low voting base.

What was it, approximately 18 percent of Texans who elected Bush his last term? Nice numbers, huh?

In my view, what Shrub Junior has accomplished in Texas is no big deal, especially for one whose dad served the Texas electorate, once was president and vice president of the United States and a former director of the CIA.

Finally, I don't think George W. Bush, Jr. ever saw a teleprompter he didn't like.

In closing, Gore ain't nuthin' to write home about either. But at least he's senatorial.
