I don't see how "history shows that morality evolved out of religious values". It is just as possible that history shows us that religions evolved out of some wiring that humans have to socially develop something we call "morality" (although that wiring is dependent on the pressures of our environment- which would account for the gross variability in morality which can be seen across time periods, social strata, and local.) I don't see how you can deduce which came first.
