re "Goodyear tire is smoking" -- Maybe in the short term, but the move to low tech is absurd for the long run. Just can't see headlines in 2005 saying things like:

"Goodyear (or, insert low tech stock of your choice) revenues up 50% for the fifth consecutive year -- announces 8th stock split in past 5 years. Children give up Pokeman cards and begin trading Radials."

"Meanwhile, tech stocks continued the decline begun 5 years ago -- the PE ratio on NASDAQ stocks now averages 0.8 to 1."

"Cisco just completed another reverse stock split in an attempt to keep its stock price above ten dollars."

"Bill Gates saw his net worth drop to $100,000 as the stock continued to get pummeled."
